"These series do what I love best about journalism: they dig for facts, debunk popular myths and bring new insights to topics we think we've already understood."

On January 21st, our History Undercover presentation of UNIT 731: NIGHTMARE IN MANCHURIA received the New York Festivals' Gold WorldMedal for best investigative program.
Coming up on HISTORY'S MYSTERIES with Arthur Kent, these world premieres:
April 10, 2000: THE BLACK LEGION: TERROR IN THE HEARTLAND America in the 1930's was a troubled land: more than 300 homegrown pro-fascist groups espoused racist dogma. Then a sinister new movement -- known as the Black Legion -- took the fear one step further: by the time a sensational murder trial revealed the extent of the secret hate group, the Legion would be implicated in more than 50 murders and other violent crimes. Produced and written by Arthur Kent.
May 16, 2000: WHO DISTROYED KIEV ? It has been called the most brutal land war in history: the clash in World War Two between the armies of Adolf Hitler and Soviet leader Josef Stalin in the Soviet republic of Ukraine. More than six million people were killed. Many events -- and crimes -- of this bloody campaign remain mysteries. For instance, shortly after the German army captured the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, in September 1941, the entire city center erupted in a week-long series of explosions. This act of sabotage was swiftly followed by one of the single worst massacres of the holocaust, when more than 30,000 Jews were machine-gunned by the German SS at Babi Yar, near Kiev, over a two-day period. But who planted and detonated the bombs that destroyed Kiev ? Who helped the Germans carry out the reprisal killings ? Historians, and the people of Ukraine, are only now coming to terms with these issues.
